Maxine-Élise Lidman

Maxine is a Swedish and Belgian filmmaker born and raised in Hong Kong. While immersing herself in theatre and film, she gained a passion for directing and made her first short in Hang Zhou and Jingning County in 2018. Fast-forward to university, alongside her Master of Arts degree in International Relations and Philosophy at St Andrews, she worked as an assistant director and producer on multiple projects, and independently produced, directed and edited her 20 minute short 'Choosing Life'. In addition, she worked as a freelance videographer and editor, working with music event companies such as Haus, as well as TEDx University of St Andrews, athletes, and local charities.​​

Since graduating in July 2025, she has collaborated with emerging directors in London and is currently in Nepal working as an assistant director. She is also in the pre-production stage for her next short, 'Finding You'.
